Accessibility Statement
We want AutoTurret to be usable by everyone, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or other assistive technology.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across autoturret.xyz, including the dashboard, public status pages, ban appeal pages and our legal pages.
What we have done
- Every feature can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of each page.
- Form fields have labels, and help text is linked to its field.
- Pop-up windows and side panels keep keyboard focus inside them, close with Escape, and return focus to where you were.
- Text and controls meet WCAG AA colour contrast, and links inside text are underlined.
- Animations are turned off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens.
- Each release is checked with automated accessibility testing (axe-core) and by hand with a keyboard.
Known limitations
- Live console and chat: server console output and in-game chat are shown as they arrive from the game server. To avoid flooding screen readers, these logs are not announced automatically; move focus to the log to read it.
- Content from other people: player names, chat messages and server names are written by players and server owners, and we can't control how accessible they are.
- Third-party sign-in: signing in with Steam or Discord takes you to their sites, which have their own accessibility.
- Rust game plugins: in-game messages from our companion plugin are shown by Rust itself.
